Shackles of Binding
Forum: Realms of Black Lake - Long ago, in the Vasul Mountains of western Elvenia, there lived a race of dwarfs said to be able to work with ore, especially iron, like none before them. It's said these great iron craftsmen disappeared long ago. To where, is unknown. It's only known that the small villages they chose to live in suddenly disappeared one Winter, and were never seen again. Some believe they went deep into the mountains, deep beneath the ground, but no one knows for sure.
These dwarven craftsmen, and metal workers, left evidence of their skills behind in rare and magical objects. One item, highly sought after by persons who must deal with criminals on a regularly, are Shackles of Binding. Most of these shackles, that have been found, are believed to be in the possession of the Sava Guards, and those who work closely with them. However, it is believed there are still more to be found.
These shackles are light-weight, robbing prisoners of complaining about the weight of their bindings. They also possess the ability to fit themself securely to the wrist and ankles, so they cannot be slipped, even if the flesh is lubricated with oils. And, their locks cannot be picked. Only with the use of a special key, created at the same time and from the same metal as the shackles, can they be opened, and the person freed.
Each set of shackles has it's very own key, and only that particular key will open that particular set of shackles. Each key bears a match symbol on it's head, that is the same as the match symbol on the locks of the shackles it will open. Without the proper key, the shackles will not open.
