Jump Drive
Forum: Dark Universe - Jump drives take a ship through subspace and require a navcom and precise coordinates, but they have limits. A typical civilian ship could probably jump three or four grid points, a grid point is equal to about five thousand miles. Military jump drives can go twice the distance, but their drives take a lot energy.
Jump drives are electrical or nuclear, depending on ship type and size, and after a jump, need at least a couple of hours to recharge. The larger jump drives can even take up to a day or two, depending the ship type.
