Triad Beetle

Forum: Realms Of Black Lake - Triad beetles measure about 5ft. long, and are well known for their burrowing and hunting abilities. They hunt in packs of 10-15 and are covered with a hard shiny black shell that can be used for the production of some types of armor.

The shell is virtually impenetrable. Therefor, to kill one its attacker must manage to flip it over onto its back, and expose its soft underbelly, then it can be stabbed or burned. Blacksmiths are quite willing to pay a hefty price for the light-weight, protective material, if delivered cleaned.

The average gold offered for the beetle’s shell ranges from 500 to 1000 gold, depending on the rarity of the shells in any given area.
