Blood Beetle

Forum: Realms Of Black Lake - Blood beetles are thin, somewhat flat, and measure about 6in. in length. They are hard shelled, and can easily take the stomp of a man’s boot with little concern.

These insects travel in columns that average 20 to 30 blood beetles, and are most often found in thick woods, or dark caves.

They feed on blood, much as a tick would, attaching themself to the skin near a vein or artery. They will stay attached to their victim until removed by a hot sharp blade, a process which often blisters their victims flesh, then it will try to scurry away before being stabbed by the same hot blade.

If stabbed it will bubble, then pop, leaving a bloody-gooey mess. They can be burned, and will usually run from bright light.

Carriers of disease, they are not well liked by who have encountered their columns.
