Body Shield

The body shield, also known as the kite or tower shield, is a massive metal or wooden shield reaching nearly from the chin to the toe of the user. It must be firmly fastened to the forearm, and the shield hand must firmly grip it at all times.

Naturally, this precludes use of the shield hand for anything but holding the body shield in place. Standing an average of 6ft tall, the body shield provides a great deal of protection to the user, provided they possess the physical strength it takes to make proper use of it.

Usually, only the largest and strongest individuals will opt to use these shields, as their size and weight can prove to be a great hindrance to many, and can actually negate their benefits.

There are a few lighter versions of these shields, which increases their overall benefits, but these are usually magically imbued, very rare, and difficult to obtain.
